Preludes help introduce us to change. They serve to prepare us for what is coming. In our passage for this morning we see Gethsemane as the God ordained prelude to the agony Jesus would suffer on the cross. As we do, we are reminded that Jesus’ exclusion from the Father meant He was closest to fulfilling the Father’s good purposes for His life. May we see the connection with ours as we examine this passage.
